Kurt Halsey Frederiksen

I happened across this sketch and a bunch more from an exhibition by Kurt Halsey Frederiksen and Julie West, amoung some photos on David Rettker’s site. They have a wonderful way of capturing expressions. So nice.

What kind of twisted person comes up with this ??

I have no idea what situation would lead you to be brandishing a dolphin in such a way. All i know is it’s genius. More oddness here.

Box doodle project

David Hofmann’s Box Doodle Project has lots of mad creations.

“The rules are quite simple:
Rearrange a box to make any kind of figure or object.
Make the most of least.”

Whether assembling 3D structures from several boxes, or using the flattened net of the box to create a character it’s a brilliant example of using your imagination to create something new from something used.

A nice little selection of valentine’s cards over at Lazy Oaf. My jumper is from there incidentally (can’t find a pic! ). Katy calls it my ‘Spaz Jumper’…. But Nik’s got the t-shirt, so at least i have company in the ‘special’ club.

Love Hate

Found this lovely piece on FFFFOUND and it linked off to I Believe in Advertising. A blog i’d not seen before today. An interesting mix of stuff on there, and some nice campaigns ( if you’re into advertising ; ).

Mauro Gatti is the illustrator, I love it!

Fish and Flowers

I’m back!

Thailand is lush. But you don’t need me to tell you that. There were fish and flowers to be seen pretty much everywhere. I took some Lomos and i’ll show you as soon as they’re developed. Retro eh ? A real film camera…!

Me in a Tache

Just stumbled across a random picture of myself on Flickr, it’s not often that I sport the blonde moustachioed Scando look, so I thought I’d post it for your amusement! It was taken at the World Beard & Moustache Championships in Brighton last year. My boyfriend Cookie was competing in the Imperial Moustache Category, he came 4th. Also found a pic of Eleanor with a beard!

giant cardboard cigarette packet

Cookie’s been busy making me a fancy dress outfit for his Cardboard Party this weekend (while I’ve been sunning myself in Thailand), it isn’t finished yet but here’s the work in progress! I’ve somehow got to wear and dance in that…

table with little knitted udder pockets

This isn’t the sort of table you see each day, Spaceship by Maybe Product. Not quite sure about the spaceship connection, looks like a set of cows udders to me! Great little table for keeping your sewing bits & bobs in me thinks.

Cookie gave me one of their LP bowls for Christmas also.

Egg Gun Fryers

Guns are generally scary, but these Egg Guns are so cute. I image you could create a whole scene of carnage with your full english on a Sunday morning!

cookie's whale t-shirt

My boyfriend Cookie has just received his first winning Threadless t-shirt! Here’s the handsome hirsute fellow himself sporting it. You can buy Whale of a Time here, also he has another design in the running if you’d like to vote.
