Robyn Fabsits Plushy Maker!

Only 5 days to go! ( I think ? - It’s hard to find the final closing date for applications ). Get your plushies ready and sent over to Crammed Organisms to be included in the World Plushy Finals! Sweet. Judging by some of the examples in their blog, like the the fantastic Robyn Fabsits’ creatures above, competition should be stiff.

Bovine Abductee Alien Lamp

This little bovine abductee has little clue of the horrors that await him above… The inventor explains:

“We know that Martians abduct hundreds of cows each year. We also know that Elvis lives on Mars. Put these two facts together, and you’ll realize that the Martians are busy collecting Earth cows to keep Elvis with a steady supply of hamburgers.”

Yup. Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Now where’s that tin foil …

… or are you just pleased to see me..  ;)

I found the Face Your Pockets Project over at I’m Guz Tumblr. An experiment to see how the contents of a pocket might relate to their owner has created some bizarre and unexpectedly beautiful scanner shots. I found myself clicking through the lot gawping at Russian bank notes, personal photos and some most unexpected objects! Would make a nice book this lot. Watch this space for my face …

What's in Your Pocket?

Metamorphosis by Yayoi Kusama

Can’t remember how i got here, but came across this image the other day on an italian gallery website. It looks amazing. I’d love to run around in there after a couple of beers! The gallery describes Yayoi Kusama’s work like this:

“Despite the fact that she has produced films, edited magazines and participated in all kinds of experimental activities, her work remains widely recognisable for her use of dots, grids, mirrors.”

I don’t know what it is but i like it. You can read a bit more on her site here but not many pictures : (

My new site for Kate Moss & Topshop

I’ve been beavering away for a while now on some new stuff for Kate Moss and her new Topshop collection. It’s quite simply a visual blog featuring the lovely Moss herself, scantily clad, on the beach … rolling around in the sea - well, it is the summer collection. Visually rich as a fashion showcase should be, it’s emphasis is on eclectic typography, and super close-up photography so you can get right in and see the details of the clothing. Some nice full width video in there too. Check it out and tell me what you reckon. More info here on the Poke site too. Also, the old site is did is gone now, but you can see a bit about it here.

Snaggs' felt creations!

Wow what a treasure trove of handmade goodness! Thanks for the link Cookie. Firstly there’s the bordering-on-insane felt cereal boxes, complete right down to the ingredients sewn on the side panels. Made for an exhibition - Stuffed - a plushy food show at Munky King ‘Designer Toy Temple’ in LA. And if that’s not enough, Snaggs has been rolling out mountains of graphic leather cushion creations. Loving the Apple and Owl above. If there’s anything left ( because there probably won’t be - i’m buying it all ) visit her Etsy store and bag yourself some beautifully designed sofa accessories … ;)
