Been meaning to blog about this awesome Augmented Reality game but i’ve been a little under the weather for a few days. So in case you’ve not found it yet … may i introduce RubberDuckZilla in … Massive Aqua Rampage!

With a simple printer and webcam, and through the wonder of AR, you can become a crazed water hating giant duck and rampage through the city blowing up buildings with you laser beam eyes …. so what’s not to like there then! ?? ( PS. there’s a tutorial video in there with the two japanese girls from the tv ad – shows you how to print out the code and stick it on your head in order to transform into the duck ). Print the AR Code from here then —>   Play it here!

And here’s our glamorous assistant Chris with a demonstration video.

I ( of course ) have a love monsters, and they don’t get much better than Gozilla. So i bloody love this! A big shout out the the very talented Poke boys who’ve been working hard on this one – especially Jason and Rex – in collaboration with the cheeky fellas over at LingoBee. There’ll be 4 games in total as the AR codes are released in the press. So keep your eyes peeled.

I think he might be reading my mind….. It’s those terrifying eyes. And the sinister way he’s reaching out to shake your hand, while thinking about how good you’re going to taste with a bit of piri-piri marinade, and pineapple. Creepy… Find out more about Marcel Dzama’s work .

Typographic experiment by Steve Rura. Just liked the colours and the thin forms of the type on this one. I like the skinny 3D approach.

I think the main thing we made was a mess! But the nice chaps in there were very nice to us, and let us take over the back part of the pub with our chopped up socks and piles of felt. A few shadies were had, and a couple of characters brought to life. Rex was constructing a 3D effigy of his famous Grip Wrench (Hollywood Hardman) character, complete with awesome stuffed quiff. Cookie was sketching away doodling ideas for a tshirt range. And Jay was creating an athletic looking striped monster. A good night was had by all!

Oh rocking horses are so last century. Why not a rockin’ chicken? Great colour huh! You can see the chicken’s development sketches, and detail shots here at Hayon Studio. Made by spanish designer-artist Jaime Hayón. Many more of his works here.

These will be so great for summer camping holidays! What a cunning idea.

Can’t find the original reference – so if you’ve seen them elseware and know more about them, let us know :) Spotted on Fffound.

Update: Aha! Thanks Katie for the link. You can find out more about the cutlery pens over at Design Boom.

Making some things in the pub tonight. Pop down to say hello and a quick shandy if you’re in the area :)

When people pass you in the street, or sit opposite you on the tube are they thinking you’re a dodgy geezer? Hold this chart up and have a friend assess your face …

“Princeton psychologists recently showed that certain faces, even when expressionless, strike people as trustworthy or untrustworthy. Features like the shape of the eyebrow are part of an unconscious language of trust that powerfully affects human interaction.”

Commando Group’s brilliant cut-out rock monsters. Really nice technique of using part of the photo texture as a fill. Their surfaces strange and reflective – Predator-like. Although the top one, he looks a little sad shedding his waterfall tears.

Original photography by Damian Heinisch.

Tonight at the Bodhi Gallery in Brick Lane. Detailed infos here.

Steve is one of 40 artist’s who’s screen prints are on show – “7pm till late at Bodhi Art Gallery on Brick Lane (opposite the bagel shops). All of the prints are being sold for £20 – we can only accept cash so bring a few notes with you! The show runs until the 27th of May 2009”. Their Vimeo channel shows stop frame animations of work in progress and a Flickr set of action shots of everyone hard at work in the Dalston studio. I’ve actually been along to a beginners Screen Printing day at Print Club London and it was a wicked day out. All i need now is to know out some designs of my own ;)

Show organised by Fred of Print Club London and James of Cure Studio.

I clapped eyes on Nathan‘s phone the other day and slightly was stunned by what i saw. He’d basically seprated all his apps out into 5 colour coded pages! What a mental i thought to myself. But then after much debate i decided to give it a trial run. After a couple of minutes shuffling i was presented back with my newly organised iPhone ( and a much calmer Mr.Barley ). At first – my god it drove me crazy trying to find that little blue TwitterFon icon in amongst the sea of blue. But you know what ? A couple of days in, and I think i might be coming round to the idea :) The jury is still out on Nathan’s possible OCD. I think someone needs to check his cd collection or wardrobe to see if the rainbow compulsion has spread yet….!

Thanks so much to everyone who voted, and who took part in the event itself…. I’m welling up… Go Raccoon! ;) More info and news on the Poke site.
