Marmot poster spotted at the first beer stop on the way down to the lake. The little fellas are about the size of a large cat, and look pretty cute, but I notice usually seem to be dipicted in comedy giant size :)

Yesterday, battered and bruised we made it over the evil black rock pass. And down to the Oeschinensee Lake. I am absolutely shattered! Beers and sleeps in order. Beautiful blue water here. I can spot some rowing boats. Maybe we’ll get to try out our survival-tin fishing kit!

Swiss money is wicked. It works from far away and close up. So many gorgeous details. Extremely well designed family of notes and beautiful too. I almost don’t want to spend them.
ps. Sorry for crap shot! All these posts are from my iPhone. Works well in good light. But sometimes not so awesome…

Beautiful river. I’d have fancied a swim if it wasn’t for the strength of the water. Amazingly powerful. Bloody freezing too I imagine!

Small chunk of flesh missing from little finger
Bent back thumb
Piece of toe-nail missing

It was a lot bigger and brighter than it looks here. The ice was a real strong blue colour which I was surprised at. Almost looked like it was made from that blue foam we used to use for 3D modelling in CDT class at school. Lots of melt water streaming off…

Evil pass. It wasn’t a very relaxing environment! Dracula would think twice about popping his castle up here I’m sure. His minions would have a tough time luring the victims up.

And it wasn’t that easy, I can tell you! Extremely steep and slippy.

We made it!

Been busy the last couple of days. Walkin’ walkin’ walkin’ … Yesterday was a massive challenge. The most evil looking pass. Black slippery rock shale at a super sharp angle, straight up for 1000 meters. Absolutely knackering, and pretty ropey going. The weather turned. Thick fog and rain. Creepy as hell up there! Boy was I glad to see the beautiful lake at the bottom. Passed an awesome glacier on the way too.

On the way to the Schilthorn. Phewy! This is well knackering. Same amount of height to climb today as yesterday, but 3 times as steep!
