Sunbeam Poem Projector
Amazing idea. Can’t remember how i found this now, but check out the timelapse video, it’s a fantastic. The type is formed ( as you can see ) through a complex array of perforations aligned with the passing of the sun. The poem takes about 8hrs to sweep through the full text. Based around the solar calendar, winter and summer display different poems. Extremely clever. Read the detailed description, see development sketches and don’t miss the ingenious video of initial experiments creating type from light and pin holes. Sculpture / Installation Design by Jiyeon Song.

Why would someone waste their time photoshopping that? Why can’t morons, such as yourself, simply accept something cool instead of saying everything is photoshopped?

Have you noticed that on pretty much everything nowadays at least 1 person will always say something is shopp’ed.
You guys need to learn before posting to the interwebs. Your just clogging up the tubes.

You can’t use Photoshop on videos, numb nuts.
If you’re going to claim something as fake, at least have the decency to know what you’re alleging.
Said, on April 19th, 2008 at 2:01 am :
I think i would photoshop something a little more intricate than that…
That is to simple, yet brilliant, to need photoshopping. Some people need to be a little more open minded (peter) cough cough.
I love it.

Couldn’t get the edu site to load. But the concept is truly amazing in getting the poem to project through sunlight. I would assume this is similar to those 3D holograms that give you a different view based on which way it was viewed.
However, the sunlight poem project is probably at a tenth level thinking to get all the angles properly aligned.
Said, on April 28th, 2008 at 6:24 pm :
Honestly guys, it probably *is* photoshopped. What you all seem to be forgetting is that MOST things are photoshopped to some degree these days. Photoshop was designed to allow you to tweak photos and work that you do to make it as good as it can be. Yeah, the photo has probably been altered, but only so you can see the details better. It’s not “fake”, though — not by any means.
