Its nice, its cute, I like it.
but I like how the balloon defies the laws of chemistry and physics or whatever when it doesn’t expand/pop as it goes higher up or in space

I really enjoyed it. It was humorous and sweet.
Thank you for sharing.

Oi Tom! I’m not a silly blogger-man, i’m a silly blogger-girl.. you silly blog-commenter you ;) heh. Seriously though you don’t think the balloon’s face looks like a character out of a Studio Ghibli movie ? Reminded me of Totoro with his goggles on :D

Photoshopped.

Amazing. I love it. <3
So cute, and it really put an enormous smile on my face.
At the end, it says: “Television has the height of their [meaning children's] imagination” (literally) Great stuff. <3
Said, on July 28th, 2008 at 4:21 am :
It actually says, “Tiji. Television AT the height of their imagination” (the accent above the “a” changes the meaning from just plain “a” as form of avoir to “at” :)

Great, awesome, beautiful. I loved it!

haha I have always wondered that. It is such a innocent question that makes me feel young again

Haha I like it.
I don’t like the idea that space has a ceiling though. =/
the other thing is that it wouldn’t rise in space. Helium is lighter than air, but that doesn’t mean it’s lighter than vacuum. It would float on top of the atmosphere, if it were able to rise that high at all, which as a previous commenter said, it wouldn’t be.
All the same, great cartoon.

Such classic japanese animation, I was half expecting to find that floating castle land from one of Miyazaki’s films
Said, on July 31st, 2008 at 6:46 am :
klyk,
the video was supposed to be like a child’s imagination i think. it evokes a child like sense of wonder about simple things like a balloon floating into the distance.
obviously it wasn’t meant to be realistic: the balloon would not ave made such an impression in the side of the hot air balloon, the winds at the top of the mountain would have blown it sideways, it would have been sucked into the jet engines, it would have expanded and popped at a certain altitude, the heat from the comets would have popped it, and there is obviously not a ceiling at the top of space. it’s not a science lesson but a beautiful little piece of art.

You know what ? I hadn’t seen it as a ceiling, i saw it as the bottom of a giant alien spaceship! But now i watch it again, yeh! Maybe it’s a ceiling ;)

Cute, but I remember “The Red Balloon”, also French. That one made me cry.

I think this is amazing, and a great piece of animation. I had the idea that all the ballons in the sky would look like stars to us on earth, so all the stars are just ballons people let go.

Awesome! Even though it ignored quite a few laws of physics…
Said, on September 19th, 2008 at 12:11 am :
haha ya i did like it, and with the defying the laws of chemistry, and it would have deff gotten burned and popped by the meteors lol
Said, on September 22nd, 2008 at 5:06 am :
That was a cute cartoon. I agree with the other Klyk. I don’t like the idea that space has a ceiling.
